You may say that every parent has a different approach on how to discipline their children. Some stricter parents punish their children, while others, who are more lenient, let them get away with things; still others focus more on emotions, but most importantly, every form of discipline is meant to teach a lesson.
In fact, the very word “discipline” comes from the Latin word “discipulus” meaning “pupil, student”.

In their new article researchers studied Chinese mothers and their approach towards disciplining children. Researchers took into account:
1. How Chinese mothers reference their emotions,
2. Which strategies they use in discussion with children.

The study helped us understand how different perceptions of children influence parenting methods, as well as what social factors contribute to these differing perceptions.

Researchers believe that this model can be applied and tested in further studies of various cultures.
