Of AI and Men
In the their new article From robots to chatbots: unveiling the dynamics of human-AI interaction PhD student Albert Łukasik and Prof. Arkadiusz Gut discuss AI and humans.
Many people may ask: What is the purpose of artificial intelligence? Is it supposed to help us? It is supposed to just to be? or maybe it is going to take over human race?
When we agree that it is suppose to help us, then next questions come in to mind: how? What is the usage of AI products? In the new article PhD student Albert Łukasik alongside with Prof. Arkadiusz Gut are examining the impact of artificial agents-human interactions on social live.
In their work they indentified three main types of artificial agents:
- Robots, which helps for example examine different attitudes toward AI in different cultural or age groups,
- Avatars, which can help in the educational field by reducing the cognitive load and imitating real interactions in learning,
- and chatbots, that took over many fields such as customer services, using systems that mimin humans conversations.
Researchers argue that:
As artificial agents such as humanoid robots, virtual avatars, and chatbots continue integrating into social, therapeutic, and professional environments, their design and behavioral adaptability profoundly influence human perception, engagement, and emotional connection.
